New Patients

Welcoming you to the Practice

We allow plenty of time for your first appointment so that we can get to know you and examine your mouth, teeth and gums. Following a thorough examination, dental health assessment and oral cancer screening, we will advise you about the full range of treatment options available so that an appropriate written treatment plan can be provided.

Your First Visit

Before meeting your dentist you will be asked to complete a medical history form.  The medical form gives us any relevant information which is used when planning any necessary treatment. During your first visit you will be given the opportunity to discuss any concerns regarding your mouth.

Your initial dental examination will follow the format that is described in the ’10-point approach to health’ page of the website. There is included a set of digitally processed x rays which will be available to your dentist during the appointment, to help direct your ongoing care. The practice also now has a scanner facility and it is now possible to see your teeth as a 3D image, which can be extremely helpful in communicating treatments that you may wish to consider.

Following a thorough examination, we will advise you on the full range of treatment options available so that an appropriate written treatment plan can be formulated and provided, detailing fees.

Our treatment planning co-ordinator is always available to help with any questions you may have from your first visit. There is a link to how to make contact below.

The dentist will also suggest an appropriate recall period for your dental examination and hygiene care based on current need.
